IPL 2023 CSK vs. RR: Sanju Samson was Fined Rs. 12 Lakhs
Indian Premier League 2023, India: The captain of Rajasthan Royals, Sanju Samson, has been fined Rs. 12 Lakh by the BCCI. It is due to maintaining a slow over-rate in their recent match against Chennai Super Kings on Wednesday. The game took place in Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk. In a recent press conference, IPL released that this was the first offense of the team this year, according to IPL's Code of Conduct relating to Minimum over-rate offenses.
The release further added, "As it was the team's first offense of the season under the IPL's Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offenses, captain Sanju Samson was fined ₹12 lakhs," This fine is considered as a word of caution to Samson.
However, on Tuesday, Rajasthan pulled off a last-ball win over Chennai Super Kings with Sandeep Sharma bowling and taking the wicket of M S Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja. Rajasthan won its third match in the past four games, whereas CSK had its second loss of the season.
